Lot 63:
Description
Of compressed globular form with a short cylindrical neck mounted with a later silver collar, the body is painted in underglaze cobalt blue, green, and manganese with floral sprays within cusped panels, alternating with bold arabesque designs. The decoration is set against a white ground, producing a vibrant contrast typical of Safavid ceramics from Kirman. The panels display naturalistic flowers in yellow and green, framed by deep cobalt blue foliate scrolls and arabesques.
