A Persian rectangular silver tray featuring a scalloped caddy rim and elaborate hand-engraved ghalam-zani decoration. The central composition consists of a large circular medallion depicting a courtly garden scene with figures engaged in leisure amongst trees and birds. This is flanked by two lobed teardrop cartouches containing profile portraits of figures in traditional headwear. The main decorative field is enclosed by a wide border depicting a shikargah or hunt scene, featuring lions, deer, and rabbits amidst scrolling floral vines. A repeating geometric border finishes the outermost rim.
