A rectangular wooden box featuring extensive khatam-kari micro-marquetry decoration. Both the exterior and interior surfaces are inlaid with geometric star motifs composed of thousands of facets of wood, bone, and metal. The lid displays a central inset panel of chased white metal with repoussé foliate scrolls and borders of incised Persian calligraphy. This panel is set with a central oval minakari enamel medallion featuring hand-painted floral designs in shades of blue, red, and white. The edges of the lid and base are finished with bone borders.
