Buyer's Premium:

A dome-shaped Dervish skullcap constructed from four panels of cream-coloured linen fabric. Each panel is decorated with two applied calligraphic cartouches embroidered in black thread on a white ground. The inscriptions feature verses from the Nadi Ali prayer, including Nadi Aliyyan (Call upon Ali), Mazhar al-ajaib (the manifestor of wonders), and invocations to Muhammad and Ali. Above the cartouches are radiating sun-burst motifs executed in gold, green, and red silk and metallic threads. The panels are joined by decorative vertical bands of chain-stitched green and red embroidery. The lower circumference is finished with a frieze of stylised floral motifs interspersed with small turquoise-coloured glass beads. The interior is lined with a similar cream fabric featuring hand-stitched quilting.
