Buyer's Premium:

A Russian silver-gilt and cloisonne enamel sash buckle of lobed, foliate design, likely dating from the early 20th century. The face is decorated with intricate scrolling filigree patterns infilled with polychrome enamels in shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, green, white, and red. A fine silver-gilt chain is attached to one side, terminating in a curved, enamel-decorated dagger-form pin that secures into a central raised sleeve. The reverse of the piece features two vertical loops for a sash or belt, alongside a horizontal brooch pin with a safety catch. The front is stamped with the ’84’ zolotnik silver standard mark and a right-facing Kokoshnik mark within an oval reserve, accompanied by a rectangular punch containing the Cyrillic characters XI. A small Kokoshnik mark is also visible on the terminal of the dagger pin.
