Lot 56: A RARE BRONZE SWIVEL SEAL RING WITH HASMONEAN MENORAH MOTIF, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.

The obverse depicts a seven-branched menorah, an emblem of the Second Temple, resembling the prutah coins issued by the Hasmonean king Mattathias Antigonus. Below the menorah are several incised characters in an archaic script, likely Paleo-Hebrew, though significant surface wear prevents a definitive transcription. The reverse of the disc shows a radiate solar or rosette motif. The disc is mounted via a tubular hinge onto a thick, U-shaped stirrup hoop finished with rounded ball terminals.
