Lot 42: A DOUBLE SIDED MOSAIC GLASS GAMING PIECE, PROBABLY ROMAN 1ST - 2ND CENTURY A.D.

The central motif features a human face, rendered in white with dark facial features and large eyes. The face is framed by a colourful headdress or hair composed of blue, yellow, and red glass. This central medallion is set within a field of peacock eye canes. Each surrounding cane features a central green and yellow oculus encircled by radiating brown and cream striations, creating a dense, feathered pattern across the rest of the disc. The edge of the piece reveals the variegated structure of the fused canes.
