Lot 322: A CHINESE CARVED PALE CELADON JADE OPENWORK PLAQUE DEPICTING HE-HE ER XIAN AND A CARP

A rectangular Chinese pierced jade plaque or pendant, carved from a pale celadon-to-white stone. The object features intricate openwork carving in high relief, worked on both the front and reverse. The central scene depicts two figures representing the He-He Er Xian (Immortals of Harmony and Union), rendered as two young boys. One boy is positioned at the upper left, holding a large lotus leaf that curls over to the right. The second figure is positioned at the bottom right amidst foliate scrolls. A detailed carp is carved into the bottom left corner amidst water or clouds. The plaque is finished with scalloped and rounded edges. No reign marks, signatures, or inscriptions are present on the stone.
