Buyer's Premium:

A large oval silver talismanic pendant, characteristic of the Qajar period. The central feature is a prominent carnelian (aqeeq) intaglio, hand-engraved with Islamic calligraphy in a fluid cursive script. The script is accented by delicate engraved floral sprigs. The gemstone is secured in a silver bezel setting, framed by a continuous border of approximately 38 small, circular-cut turquoise stones. The pendant is topped by two sturdy, faceted silver suspension loops.

The reverse of the pendant features a silver backplate decorated with fine hand-chased and engraved work. The central design depicts a floral spray with multi-petaled blooms and serrated leaves, set within a diaper-patterned border.
