Buyer's Premium:

A 19th-century Ottoma pen case featuring a scent attachment, designed in the Palais Royal style. The cylindrical body is decorated with a repeating chevron pattern composed of alternating inlaid segments of iridescent mother-of-pearl and mottled reddish-brown tortoiseshell. The case is constructed in two primary sections that pull apart, utilizing an internal wooden or cork-like neck for a friction fit. The top of the case features a screw-off brass cap surmounted by a faceted mother-of-pearl dome, which serves as the scent attachment. The assembly includes brass mounts at the base and cap, with white bone divider rings at the joints. The interior is hollowed to accommodate a dip pen or similar writing accessories.
