Buyer's Premium:

An Indian silver rose water sprinkler, also known as a gulabpash, featuring a traditional form with a bulbous, compressed globular body and a long, tapering neck. The piece is constructed from silver and decorated throughout with dense repousse and chased ornamentation. The decorative program consists of scrolling foliate and floral vines, a style characteristic of silverwork from the Kutch region during the late 19th to early 20th century. The shoulder of the main body is accented with a register of upright acanthus-style leaves. The neck, which secures to the body via a threaded joint, is topped with a decorative finial in the form of a blossoming flower bud. The flared pedestal foot repeats the intricate floral scroll motifs against a finely textured ground.
