The vessel features a bulbous body, a wide flaring neck, and a single loop handle. It is constructed from earthenware finished with a light-colored slip. The decoration is hand-painted with calligraphic motifs in two colors. The main body displays a wide band of bold black script in an early Arabic Kufic style. The neck is decorated with larger, more characters in a reddish-brown pigment. The handle features a series of diagonal black brushstrokes. The interior of the neck shows traces of the light slip and mineral deposits. The base is an unglazed, slightly recessed foot showing the natural color of the fired clay.
