This miniature thumb size hand written Quran manuscript is executed in Naskh script on thick, aged paper. The volume is bound in a limp, dark brown leather wrap-around binding. An illuminated opening for Surat al-Ma’idah is present, featuring a hand-painted red and yellow border with floral corner motifs. The text within the border includes the Surah heading in a red cartouche, the Basmala, and the opening verses of the chapter. The manuscript is roughly square in format with hand-trimmed, uneven edges.
