Lot 257: AN INCISED ISLAMIC SILVER SIGNET BAND RING

The ring features a wide, flattened bezel and a heavy, non-uniform shank suggesting hand-forged or primitive casting methods. The exterior is decorated with deeply incised geometric patterns, including a central rectangular panel on the face containing a herringbone or chevron motif. This central panel is flanked by vertical bars and various diagonal hatch marks that extend onto the shoulders and sides of the band. The interior of the shank exhibits vertical striations and coarse finishing marks consistent with manual production.
