Lot 254: ANTIQUE SILVER FOB SEAL WITH ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHIC INTAGLIO STONE MATRIX

This writing accessory is a wax fob seal featuring a silver-toned metal handle and a dark stone matrix. The handle is constructed with a tapering form and a bulbous terminal, fitted with a suspension ring intended for a watch chain or chatelaine. The oval stone matrix, which may be hematite or dark chalcedony, contains an intaglio-engraved calligraphic script in an Arabic or related Islamic cursive style.
