Description
Two Iznik pottery border tile fragments featuring underglaze foliate and floral motifs. The decorative program consists of an intricate arabesque pattern with palmettes set above a braided or rope-style border. The color palette includes cobalt blue, sage green, and bole red on a white ground. The reverse of one fragment retains a small inventory label marked 4IT (28) 03.439/4. These pieces are architectural salvage and show remains of mortar on the reverse.
