Description
This square pottery tile is executed in the cuerda seca technique, characteristic of the Safavid period. The composition features a yellow field depicting a blue bird in flight, enclosed within a cobalt blue border. The border is decorated with scrolling white and yellow floral arabesques. The reverse of the tile reveals a coarse, reddish-brown terracotta body with visible white mortar residues and a diagonal groove from its original architectural setting.
