Lot 85:
Description
This Central Asian Indo-Persian Kulah Khud helmet is constructed from steel and features a rounded, two-part hemispherical bowl. The top of the bowl is finished with a small decorative finial. A singular, sliding nasal bar with a leaf-shaped terminal is secured to the front of the helmet via a riveted bracket. The lower edge of the bowl is pierced with a series of small holes for the attachment of a chainmail aventail, which remains partially intact around the circumference. Faint traces of gold-inlaid decorative patterns, including floral and geometric motifs, are visible along the central horizontal band and lower portions of the bowl.
