Description
A ROYAL QAJAR WOVEN PAISLEY OPEN-FRONT JACKET/COAT, IRAN PROBABLY KERMAN, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
This long-sleeved, open-front robe is crafted in the Royal Qajar style from a dense, woven fabric. The textile features an all-over repeating paisley or boteh pattern rendered in a palette of deep red, forest green, black, and tan. The garment is designed with a slightly flared silhouette, a small standing collar, and two inset front pockets. The interior is finished with a plain, light-brown fabric lining. A small starburst motif embroidered in metallic gold thread is positioned near the bottom hem on the reverse.
