Description
This traditional Palestinian thobe is an ankle-length garment constructed from a black fabric base. It features hand-embroidered tatreez cross-stitch decoration. The front includes a dense geometric chest panel known as a qabbeh and vertical decorative bands called banayeq on the skirt and sleeves. The lower back of the skirt contains a rectangular embroidery field known as a sheyal featuring traditional motifs and a row of stylized human figures. The embroidery is primarily red with accents in yellow, green, blue, and pink. The interior bodice is lined with a tan and black striped fabric.
