Description
This authentic handmade Turkish Sufi dervish hat, traditionally known as a sikke, is associated with the Mevlevi Order. The primary structure is composed of thick, brown felted wool. The object features a tall, cylindrical form with a flat crown and an open base. A wide band of emerald green fabric, identified as a destar, is wrapped around the lower circumference in a distinct overlapping pattern. A single vertical strip of matching green material extends from the base over the crown. The fabric is secured with several small, pink-headed pins.
