Lot 46:
Description
This Ottoman Tophane chibouk pipe features a long tapered stem with a dark core embellished with an intricate silver-toned metal overlay in a repeating scalloped pattern. The stem is segmented by several raised silver-toned bands. The dark-toned bowl, characteristic of Tophane ware, continues the scalloped motif with silver wirework and is fitted with a hinged, domed lid. This lid features a ball finial, a twisted-rope border, and ventilation holes, opening to reveal a reddish-orange interior. The pipe is mounted on a modern black rectangular display stand.
