Description
Of domed circular form with a central bud finial, the lid is worked in copper richly gilt (tombak), its surface decorated with repoussé and chased motifs. The crown displays a radiating sunburst rosette within a band of delicate scrolls, while the sloping sides are adorned with alternating arabesque cartouches and paired cloud-scroll motifs in gilt, each highlighted against the warm copper ground. The upper dome is further punctuated with small pierced elements around the base of the finial, enhancing its play of light and shadow.
