Description
An antique Chinese embroidered silk textile dating to the late Qing Dynasty, constructed as a small padded mat or cover. The front face is divided vertically, featuring a plain dark blue silk satin panel adjacent to a heavily embroidered panel on a turquoise-blue silk ground. The embroidery is executed in a palette of blues, reds, yellows, and greens, depicting traditional auspicious motifs including vases containing lotuses, stylized vessels, and various floral sprays. The reverse consists of a yellow diamond-quilted fabric. Small gray twisted cord loops are attached at the four corners.
