Description
An octagonal mixed-metal tray from the Japanese Meiji period featuring high-relief taka-zogan inlays of gold, silver, and copper on a patinated metal ground. The central composition depicts a woman and children in traditional attire among flowering irises, with figures in various poses. The background consists of an engraved village landscape including koinobori (carp streamers) and Mount Fuji. The raised rim is decorated with a continuous foliate scroll pattern. The reverse side features an incised landscape of rocks and grasses.
