Description
The object is cast in a bronze and features a central mandorla-shaped body with an openwork calligraphic center. The central element is flanked by two stylized, outward-facing dragon or serpent heads and is enclosed within a supporting circular outer frame. Extensive Arabic calligraphy, including religious invocations, is visible across the border and within the pierced central panel. The standard is surmounted by a calligraphic finial. The base terminates in a bulbous, hollow socket intended for pole mounting.
