Lot 328:
Description
This lot consists of a pair of hand-woven tribal textiles, identified as khorjin faces or decorative covers. The front faces are constructed with a knotted wool pile. Each features a central stepped diamond medallion in madder red, set against a navy blue ground. The field is densely populated with various geometric, floral, and cruciform motifs in a palette of red, blue, green, and cream. The central field is enclosed by multiple decorative borders, including a prominent cream-ground geometric guard band. The reverse sides are flat-woven in a kilim technique, featuring a solid forest-green field framed by a stepped red border. One piece includes a vertical yellow accent stripe on the reverse.
