Description
This Ottoman embroidered textile panel, likely a cushion cover, is composed of a dark velvet ground decorated with gold-colored metallic thread. The central design features the imperial tughra of Sultan Mehmed V (r. 1909–1918), accompanied by the calligraphic inscription Rashad. The field is further embellished with a crescent moon and a five-pointed star. The edges are finished with a metallic fringe. The piece is backed with a plain-woven natural fabric lining.
