Description
The piece features a bulbous body tapering to a waisted neck and a flared rim. The exterior surface is extensively hand-engraved with horizontal decorative bands containing various sizes of botteh (paisley) motifs and stylized floral patterns. A prominent band of calligraphic script is set within cartouches around the upper shoulder. The vessel is fitted with a heavy, arched copper handle that terminates in scrolling, foliate-style finials at the attachment points. Faint, hand-stamped numerical characters are visible on the underside of the base.
