Description
The flared cylindrical form with domed lid is adorned with panels of vegetal arabesques and cartouches enclosing inscriptions, including decorative friezes in Kufic script. The lid opens to reveal the hollow interior for storing ink, while the side is equipped with suspension rings, indicating its portability and use by a scholar or scribe. The base bears additional inscriptions and geometric motifs, with a worn but still legible six-pointed star at the centre.
