Description
An Persian engraved brass tray of rectangular form, originating from Iran. The tray is constructed from a base metal, likely brass or copper, featuring a tinned or silvered surface. The central field is decorated with an intricately chased and engraved figural scene depicting a courtly audience within an architectural setting. This central composition is enclosed by multiple concentric borders of dense floral, foliate, and geometric scrollwork. The reverse of the tray exhibits a warm, aged patina with a faint impression of the decorative work visible from the front.
