Description
A pair of Anglo-Indian folding picture frames, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The frames are constructed from dark wood featuring elaborate Brass inlay. The two rectangular apertures are bordered by dense foliate and vine patterns, flanked by pierced foliate fretwork at the peaked crests and arched bases. The outer vertical edges feature a continuous carved openwork motif. The reverse reveals the hinged construction with two inset panels covered in aged paper or parchment and a wire for hanging.
