Description
This cylindrical vessel is constructed from a copper alloy and features elaborate engraved decoration throughout. The exterior body is divided into panels containing seated figures within mandorla-shaped frames, set against a ground of dense scrolling foliate motifs and arabesques. Three trefoil-shaped drop handles are attached to the body via hinged mounts. The flat, circular lid is decorated with concentric bands of figural and calligraphic registers, including a prominent band of Arabic script. The interior base and the underside of the lid are further embellished with engraved geometric and calligraphic details.
