Description

A 19th-century Indian cast brass temple toy depicting a horse and rider. The sculpture is fashioned from a gold-toned metal alloy and features a rider with simplified features holding onto the neck of the horse. The horse is decorated with intricate chased and engraved patterns representing a saddle blanket, bridle, and harness. The figure is supported by two dark metal axles and four matching decorative wheels. Each wheel exhibits ornate circular and starburst geometric motifs. The construction utilizes traditional casting and engraving techniques common to Indian metalwork of the period.
