Description
This Huqqa Base consists of a polished, dark brown ovoid coconut shell tapering to a point. The vessel is fitted with silver mounts, including a domed top and a wide mid-band. The silver top features repoussé and chased work depicting a figure on horseback and a reclining figure set among foliate scrolls. A circular aperture is located on the shoulder of the silver mount. The mid-band is composed of pierced openwork with architectural motifs and fleur-de-lis.
