Description
A Persian Shiraz silver tray of rectangular form with a scalloped and shaped rim. The wide border is decorated in repousse with a series of human figures and floral motifs. The central field contains three engraved oval medallions. The left medallion depicts a figure in ancient Persian-style attire slaying a winged mythical beast. The center medallion features a gol-o-bolbol rose and nightingale motif. The right medallion shows a royal audience scene under a parasol. The medallions are surrounded by dense foliate and floral engraving.
