Lot 292:
Description
This mid-20th century Iranian silver tray is a signed example of Isfahan craftsmanship. The rectangular form features a densely hand-engraved surface in the traditional ghalamzani style. The composition is centered by a polylobed medallion set within a field of intricate arabesque scrolling foliate patterns and gol-o-morgh bird-and-flower motifs. This central field is enclosed by multiple decorative borders of varying floral and foliate patterns, terminating in a raised, gadrooned rim. The tray bears a signature, consistent with mid-century Isfahan production.
