Description
This cylindrical object, possibly of Indo-Persian origin, is constructed of dark, patinated steel with elaborate gold-damascened decoration in the koftgari style. The exterior is ornamented with gold-inlaid floral and foliate scrolls. A radiating foliate motif is centered on the slightly domed top, enclosed within a gold border. The item is hollow with an open base.
