Description
This 18th or 19th-century illuminated Arabic manuscript is a copy of Dala’il al-Khayrat, a collection of prayers. The volume is bound in brown leather featuring embossed and gilded central and corner medallions. Internally, the manuscript contains illumination with gold-leaf floral borders, blue and gold headpieces, and a detailed double-page diagram depicting the holy sanctuaries of Mecca and Medina. The text is written in a clear script with headings and key names highlighted in red and blue ink. The construction consists of ink and gold leaf on paper, housed within a leather binding.
