Description
This cold-painted bronze sculpture is produced by the Franz Bergmann foundry of Vienna, Austria. The figural group depicts a shirtless man with a beard and a simple necklace, wearing a patterned loincloth. He is positioned in a squatting stance on a low, four-legged rustic platform. Arranged on a draped mat before him are several miniature objects, including a tall candlestick, a small bowl, and a handled cup with a spoon. The underside of the platform features assembly screws and the characteristic Franz Bergmann maker mark consisting of a letter B within an urn-shaped cartouche, accompanied by a numerical stamp. The piece is finished with a dark brown patina and polychrome cold-painted accents.
