Description

This 19th century Persian metal vase is constructed with a globular body, a long flared trumpet neck, and a splayed circular foot. The vessel is crafted from a dark-patinated metal, likely steel or bronze, and features intricate gold-toned damascened inlay throughout. The decoration includes a large central medallion on the body containing scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The neck and shoulders exhibit delicate inlaid accents in geometric and foliate patterns. Two scroll-form handles are attached at the shoulder and neck. The interior of the flared mouth shows a heavily oxidized surface.
