Description
This Roman intaglio is made of ruby and features a translucent, deep reddish-purple hue. The gemstone is an oval-shaped cabochon featuring a bas-relief portrait in profile of a bearded male figure. The carving is executed in a classical style, showing detailed treatment of the hair, beard, and facial features. The figure is carved into the upper surface of the stone. No visible inscriptions or signatures are present.
