Description
This rectangular Islamic textile fragment is composed of a light beige, plain-weave fabric, likely linen or cotton. A single horizontal band of Arabic calligraphy is rendered in black ink across the center, featuring a script characteristic of early medieval Islamic textiles. The text consists of a religious or dedicatory inscription. The reverse of the fragment displays a mirrored and more faded version of the primary calligraphy.
