Description
A pair of post-Nasrid 19th century inlaid folding chairs of Andalusian style. Each chair is constructed with a dark hardwood X-frame, featuring curved legs joined by a central circular boss and terminating in scrolled armrests. The frames are extensively decorated with geometric marquetry in bone and mother-of-pearl, utilizing traditional star and floral motifs. The sling-style seats and wide backrests are composed of dark brown leather. The backrests are tooled with Arabic calligraphy, including the phrase La ilaha illAllah. The leather is secured to the frame with decorative metal studs.
