Description
After Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael, 1483-1520). This 19th-century oil on canvas depicts the Madonna della Seggiola. The tondo composition features the Virgin Mary embracing the Christ Child, with the young Saint John the Baptist looking on from the right. The artwork is housed in a square, dark-toned wooden frame with a classic profile and gilt-toned inner edge. The reverse shows the canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher, bearing an indistinct red chalk or crayon inscription. A small printed inventory label on the lower frame rail includes the text BRAUN GEB..GOLD
