Description
PEN AND INK DRAWING OF AN ARAB MAN WITH MABKHARA, ABDULWAHAB AL-KOOHEJI, BAHRAIN, 20TH CENTURY
Pen and ink drawing on paper by Bahraini artist Abdulwahab Al-Kooheji. The work is executed using stippling and cross-hatching techniques. The composition depicts a man in traditional Arab attire, including a ghutra and agal, seated while tending to a mabkhara. The foreground contains two dallah coffee pots and small cups situated near a fire. The artwork is signed in Arabic in the lower right corner. The reverse of the frame features a gallery label from the Arabesque Art Gallery in Manama, Bahrain. The drawing is housed in a black metal frame with a double mat.
