Description
This oil on canvas by Iraqi artist Alaa Al Shbli depicts a Middle Eastern scene rendered in a warm palette of ochres, yellows, and browns. The impressionistic composition features three men in traditional robes and turbans: one figure stands within a circular quffa boat on the water, while another sits atop a white donkey on the shore as a third man assists with a large sack. A village with palm trees and low-profile buildings is visible along the distant horizon line. The work is characterized by heavy impasto and textured brushwork, particularly in the foreground figures. The artist signature in Arabic is located in the lower right corner. The painting is set in a multi-tiered wooden frame. The reverse shows the canvas stretched on a wooden frame with a small gallery label on the lower edge.
