Lot 216:
Description
This handheld mirror, probably Armenian in origin, is crafted from a darkened metal, likely silver or silver-plated, and features extensive filigree work. The piece is designed with a beveled oval mirror plate set within a scalloped frame accented by turquoise-colored cabochons. The reverse and handle are elaborately embellished with complex filigree forming floral and foliate motifs, inlaid with teardrop and circular accents in shades of turquoise, red, green, and dark blue. The construction utilizes traditional metalworking techniques to create the scrolling patterns. No maker marks or inscriptions are present.
