Description
A Qajar illustrated erotic album from 19th-century Iran. The work is executed in gouache and ink on paper. The miniatures depict various amorous and erotic scenes with figures dressed in traditional period Persian attire, including tunics and distinctive headwear. The compositions are primarily set within domestic interiors featuring patterned carpets and cushions, often positioned before windows that reveal stylized landscapes with trees and rolling hills. Some illustrations are enclosed within simple black or polychrome ruled borders. Occasional Persian script is present in the margins of some pages.
