Description
This illuminated Ottoman Quran is bound in dark brown leather featuring decorative gold-tooled medallions and corner ornaments. The text is written in Arabic Naskh script on cream-colored paper. The manuscript includes gold verse markers and red diacritics. Extensive illumination is present on the opening pages and throughout the headers, utilizing gold leaf and colorful pigments in intricate floral patterns. A colophon is visible on a final page within a circular frame, bearing a Hijri date corresponding to the mid-19th century.
